Does anyone know how to rip the episode 3 game models or where to get them? There isn't an entire dump containing all the game models but you can get quite a few of the character models Acewell dumped here: groinkick.freeforums.net/post/4631Thanks, I saw that one. I guess I'm really just looking for a way to rip the rest of the files. Can I do that with an emulator of the game?

You can rip models using an XBOX emulator with Ninja Ripper but it's really not necessary since the models can be extracted directly from the game files. First you have to extract all the .PAK files from the game disc and once you've done that you will have to extract the contents of each of the .PAK files using QuickBMS. I followed a few different discussions on the ZenHax and Xentax forums to get the needed scripts and tools. Once all the contents of each .PAK file are extracted you will need Noesis with some plugins to convert the .STX textures and .MSH models:

Addendum to this: if you're after level models, the game was built in a semi-modular manner. Certain objects are placed repeatedly throughout each level. You can get the textures and models for these, but the level textures and models themselves don't have extensions and you'll have to go file-by-file to figure out which is a texture and which is a model. It's how I got certain models for my Invisible Hand mod map. You cannot get the floor/terrain layouts this way though.

^ You could just get Ultimate UV Unwrap for roughly $30, it has a ALO import plugin.

Anyone have a first order dreadnought model? I'm going to assume you are referring to the Mandator IV-class Siege Dreadnought and not the Mega-class Star Dreadnought Supremacy here, in which case the only model we ever got was from the Star Wars Mobile App which has since been discontinued/shut down. Read my old forum post for the download: groinkick.freeforums.net/post/5633

Anyone know how to import .opt models into blender? It is used in the X-Wing Alliance games. The easiest way is to use Jérémy Ansel's XWA OPT Editor to convert the .OPT models into .OBJ models and the textures to .PNG files. Then you can import the .OBJ models into Blender. Sorry I haven't been here in awhile and for replying to a 3 page old post, but I can confirm this is what I've done and it works like a charm. I have done this in relation for conversion to BF2 in getting ships as props as I did the old XWAU Super Star Destroyer (the longest version, 19,000m in length). The most tedious procedure was assigning all of the textures to their appropriate locations on the highest LOD on that absolute monster, although I presume abeja here will be going for much smaller craft? Obviously credits were given at the time of conversion, but it was a beautiful ship to try testing the capabilities of the engine (for large props, not necessarily for polycount or tris). Just find your desired model in the OPT viewer/editor, convert to OBJ, and like Warhammer said, convert the textures to png or whatever your desired format is (in my case it had to be .tga). A lot of ships have FG textures too (flightgroups) and change based on that, so I would take that into consideration, unless you had the FG in mind for your desired starships. As you said Blender, yeah .png is best here. I've been meaning to do some Blender art scenes sometime with all of the stuff I've collected over time here and make the ultimate love letter to Star Wars as a thank you for keeping me going after all these years.

is there any chance to get the tradefederation control ship from the image? It can be ripped but it will take some effort due to its size. The model is constructed more like a "map" rather than a single "ship". The interior has a bunch of rooms and parts that will need to be assembled together along with the exterior parts. The exterior isn't very complicated to assemble though.
