BadHorse does your 3dsmax script only work for "spacial prefab blueprints" or can it read other forms like a "sub world data". I ask this because ive recently been extracting and recreating the bridge set from the last mission on the story as its the only imperial bridge from that game in the files (at least to my knowledge) . ive been doing this by just eyeballing where things should be. the only thing that i could find in the files that would indicate a faster way was the sub word data file that contained references to all of the objects used on the bridge. if anyone knows a better way to do this im all ears. i you want to poke around the files, the directory for where most of the meshes are is tobedeleted_tempintransition/objects/architecture/imperial/raiderii-sd. if anyone has an way to make this faster that would be TREMENDOUSLY helpful.
I haven't had much luck with the SubWorldData. The script is agnostic in terms of file type, all it requires is mesh name and related transforms. From what I've seen, the SubWorldData XML is not as straightforward as the SpatialPrefabBluprints. The mesh names are easy enough to find, it's usually a matter of locating the transform data. i found some spacial prefab blueprints but they all have weird names like nongroupable_autogen. when i look in the files it doesn't seem to have position data,. i could just be blind but are these kinds of spacial prefab blueprints different?

Hi, I've just bought SWBF2 for £4 from Amazon, amazing. I've only just learned about this whole extraction process. Well I have tried to but considering face punch is gone, finding the information is tough. I was hoping to find information/tutorial on how to do it, so I can attempt to get myself a nice old Resurgent SD amongst others. I have looked at what I can but may have missed things. Thanks guys and great little community here.

Hello there! Back on the Facepunch forums, a part of a future update to the Star Wars: First Assault asset pack was showcased, but nothing has been said about it since, so I was wondering if there is any news about it. Thanks in advance!

I think Warhammer was still tweaking things as they weren't done yet. I'm really only after the weapons myself (particularly that DLT-20E Longblaster and the scoped weapons)

What are you extracting? Characters can all be found and assembled using just the frosty folder tree view. If you wanna go there and extract capital ships or any assembled blueprint structures you may have to tackle a full raw extract of the container and using the tools and converters by id-daemon and those scripts made by the guys around here.

I'm trying to get capital ships yes, specifically the resurgent class. Not easy to find in Frosty. I've seen the script by badhorse but haven't got a clue how to use it as his guide was buried with FacePunch I believe. I'll look into Id-daemon's tools. Thanks for the help guys, much appreciated.

I think Warhammer was still tweaking things as they weren't done yet. I'm really only after the weapons myself (particularly that DLT-20E Longblaster and the scoped weapons) I'm still trying to get the missing textures for the models. The current Noesis script won't convert all the textures from the game so some of the models have no textures at the moment.

@warhammer since your doing Vader Immortal rips are you gonna do the Castle as a Model eventually? Not the whole one maybe and I dont know how it the rooms are connected but maybe the parts from the Beginning the game with the Hanger asking as a genaral curiosity I just don't have the time at the moment to assemble entire scene assets from the game. You should know that many of the scene models are backface culled. That means that most of the geometry out of the view of the player's first person camera is not modeled. Due to this there is no complete model of the castle.

Anyone happen to have a Falumpaset (and/or a gungan battle wagon)? I think there's a model in Galaxies but I am unable to find it.

They can't be fixed unfortunately. The textures are all screwed up. i recall badhorse did something with rebaking textures, would that work here? That's what I mean. Even rebaking the textures doesn't do anything. All of the textures (or perhaps the UV's) are simply screwed up.

Getting back into the modelling.. Thought I'd give the the Fondor shipyard mapping a go but what a nightmare! I realise they use 2nd UV sets in BF2 but there seems to be more to than just multiple UV's as I'm struggling to match map to mesh... I'm cross referencing ninja rips with whoever uploaded the prefab script release... Any suggestions??

Any suggestions?? i got no specifics but most of the large stuff uses multiple textures layered on top of each other. 2 uv are just the beginning. one of those usually contains baked information like ao or something while the other is mostly generic panel mappings which are actually even rescaled with texturespace transforms. means you can have a panel with a basetexture repeating 2 times while a detail color layer repeats over it 3 times. giving you more variance across bigger space. a bit of trial and error and just getting it to lookd good. not exactly replicating it.

Hello there. Is there a 100% working way to unlock models from Star wars heroes Republic without resorting to Ninja Reaper. Just how long ago desperate used nija Ripper. In order to pull out the Twilight. Could get the Ship itself, the bridge and the hangar. But not long ago found in the medical Bay files. But going through the plot of this compartment is not present. i.imgur.com/lJZA2gU.png

Also if you want to convert the models directly you can use a Blender script that imports the .mdl files with bones and weights: forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?t=8915It's really easy to use. You drop the "Blender249.blend" onto Blender to auto load the script. Once you're in Blender press Alt+P to open the file browser and locate the game .mdl you want to import. Once the scene is fully imported you can export it to whatever model format you want.

Are you using the drydock from the old forums? www.mediafire.com/file/b2b4tt3z723hdoz/fondor_drydock_x.rar/fileI started texturing it a while back and from what I could tell each object only had one UV set, and so one diffuse texture applied to the whole object. I used the ArtStation images to match up which objects got which material: www.artstation.com/artwork/3GqyBThere's a lot of objects, but really only a few different materials in total, so it's not as impossible as it seems. Just a matter of selecting the object and choosing which material goes with it, and after awhile you can see the pattern of which materials belong with which types of object.

Does someone have the Star Destroyer Bridge from Battlefront II to share? Do you mean the bridge interior or the communications tower? I didn't think Battlefront II (Dice's) had an ISD bridge interior model. scifi3d has a very nice one though: www.scifi3d.com/details.asp?intGenreID=10&intCatID=8&key=302If you mean the Imperial I tractor beam targeting array replacement for the Imperial II communications tower, I'm pretty sure one of the repositories Rancor has on the front page has that. If not, I might be able to find the old link for it.

Yes I believe the naming is the same on the archive so yes.. maybe some parts like the smaller objects; shuttle transports/ integrated ISD thrusts etc but the main structural parts appear like they've been imported on the wrong UV channel (like ninja ripper on default) not to mention multiple UV's overlapping.. No not impossible, just time consuming as it becomes overly compulsive the more experimental comping I do. Thanks for the links.. Will have another look at it today...

When you said using the Blender script didn't work what did you mean? I've used it myself without any problems.
