Like paladin, I was also wondering if anyone was capable of extracting Empire at War models -- preferably in FBX or OBJ format. If this is possible, I'll state my particular request.

I can look into it in my spare time, but if you wanna do it yourself, get EAW, get the MEGa tool from petrolution an unpack the base game MEG files to find what your lookin for(i think map props an buildings are packed, could be wrong tho as i dont mess with base game stuff) , oh an theyre also in .ALO format so youll need blender with Gauklers Alamo Plugin

There are a bunch of Legacy Era ships in Warb_NullYou need blender and ALO tools to import them. focumentation.fandom.com/wiki/Alamo_Tools_for_BlenderThe bad news is that they have a tendency of misplacing the 3D parts for some reason, but it can be correct them if you rotate them in most cases.

There are almost 1400 ALO files (model files for units, buildings, etc) in the base game of Empire at War. It may help to ask for specific units at first. Alternatively, there are a few relatively easy methods to extract them if you have the game.

It’s nice that there’s a thread dedicated to Empire at War. I love that game, used to play it a lot back in the day. If only I had the software and computer capable of running that game again. If I were to make any requests for anything from this game, it would have to be sprites of the explosions. Why explosions? Because I might use them to overlay them in video projects for starship explosions or vehicles blowing up, or whatever.

Yeah I would stick to 2.79 with that ALO importer. I've had issues with newer versions. I have two separate Blender installs specifically because of some old plugins that just work better in 2.79 (which is fine since I prefer that version anyway)

This is what I get when I import Warb_Null's Bothan Cruiser. I'm using the latest version of Blender. I agree with Warhammer_81 and gtteancum, the 2.79 version appears to be the best bet for direct ALO imports

Well, I finally found the problem, running the linux version of blender is a no go, but luckly wine can run blender and it will import the model alright. The DDS textures only work on Cycles, but not on eevee for some reason, oh well beggars can’t be choosers.

Warhammer_81 , abeja , Do you guys know how to assemble the turrets and textures on this because the textures are complicated on this. as i cant figure how to put the objects on to the bone points. Because the turrets come in a seperate import i dont know how to attach them to the existing bones. If you guys can post a tutorial and how to assemble the turrets and other parts and put the textures on the ships that would be really helpfull Attachments:

The "base" mesh uses the diffuse and normal map textures and the "lighting" mesh uses the lighting textures. The "Black" looking mesh layer is for the emission lighting and uses alpha transparencies. It looks black because you don't have the alpha channel activated for the emissive textures.

If you guys know how to fix it please post a tutorial You see the whole ship black, because you are using "Material Preview", click on the sphere next to it that is "Rendered". Its should let you see the textures.
