A weird request, but would anyone happen to know how to extract models and textures from Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, Lego Star Wars III: The Clones Wars, and Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens?

That's not a weird request at all. I've wanted to extract them myself, particularly environment models and textures.
I've seen LEGO models posted on Model Resource so there must be some way to do it.

If I remember correctly, I believe I figured out how to extract the models from TCS a few years ago; I think I gave up though because I couldn't figure out how to extract the textures. Right now I think TFA is the one I'd be the most interested in, considering the quality of the models and textures. On top of that it looks like TSS is going to be near photorealistic. We may even end up having some high quality environmental assets that are almost on the same level of quality as Battlefront.

I ripped all of the character assets from Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga and came across this. I never knew Plagueis was originally going to be in the game! Then again, there are no model or texture assets. The folder just contains a text file detailing walking speed, force powers, etc.

And then a GHG extraction script to get the models (the textures also work for me now). However, the model pieces don't have any coordinate information, so they have to be placed by hand, which is a huge drawback. On top of that there are no UV coordinates, therefore the textures cannot be properly applied.

Particularly those for Episodes I and III.

Was that meant to be a reply to me?
I wouldn't care about having to manually redo the texturing on level models TBH since I'd be having to model in parts which were LEGO in the game anyway.

It's an extremely messy process, so I won't personally be extracting any of the model bits. Each character model for instance has an average of about 30 pieces. Most of the level assets don't have any dedicated models at all, just textures. They primarily use other assets from other models, most of which I'm unable to find. I was hoping, especially due to the age and graphical simplicity of the game that is would be a more straightforward process. Is there anything specific that you want me to take a look at? I'd simply upload a dump of the level assets, but it's quite large so I'm unable to do that.

Specifically, I was after the Trade Federation Battleship level at the start of Episode I and the Invisible Hand level (Level 2) of Episode III. And mainly the first 'parts' of each, though I wouldn't say no to the Bridge and Dooku Arena from the Invisible Hand level either.
While I'm here, does anybody know a workaround for NinjaRipper/PPSSPP that works with a keyboard where the Function keys are also keys for adjusting volume/screen brightness etc? I want to try and rip a PSP TFU level and I've been unable to do so using JPCSP.

I've made progress with the Lego TCS files using a Noesis script. There are still a few issues I need to solve, but the results are actually pretty good for the most part. I haven't tried any of the level assets yet, but many of the characters seem to export properly now.

Unfortunately it's not a simple process to get models from the game currently. You can try running the game and capturing scenes using Ninja Ripper OR you can use this tool to extract and convert the .GSC/.GHG model files individually: oresome.s3.amazonaws.com/misc/extractdx11mesh_700246.zipThe tool extracts all the individual models contained within a .GSC/.GHG file and converts them to .OBJ/.MTL files, however I can't seem to get it to extract any of the textures. For the tool to work correctly you will have to re-name the file extension from upper-case ".GSC/.GHG" to lower-case ".gsc/.ghg", I have no idea why but this works. To extract a .gsc/.ghg file simply drag-and-drop it onto the "ExtractDx11MESH.exe". It will then convert all the models and place them in the same directory containing the original .gsc/.ghg file. Some .gsc/.ghg files contain hundreds or even thousands of models so assembling an entire scene from all the various parts would be a huge challenge!

I'm trying to extract some models from the PSP port of lego Star Wars III the clone wars and I'm having a bit of trouble. I have been through the files on a PSP ISO file and couldn't find anything to do with the models, only the icons, sounds and cutscenes. I'm currently trying to use ppsspp and ninja ripper but can't seem to get the hang of it yet. I was just wondering if anyone knows if its even possible to rip the models from the PSP port of lsw3? I will keep trying with the emulator and ninja ripper for now and see if I can work anything out

Hi there, I have been trying my best to get models from the psp port of Lego Star Wars III the clone wars as I previously mentioned. I have managed to download ninja ripper and am up to the point in the game where the characters are unlocked and playable using ppsspp. However I can't seem to open ppsspp through ninja ripper to rip on screen models, I keep getting the error message "Intruder .dll not found. The models I am trying to get hold of from the psp port are the stealth trooper, clone snow trooper, jar jar (bombad), advanced recon force trooper & king katununko. All these characters are ones that don't appear in other ports of the game so I can't get them from the pc archive files. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me get these models as I've tried for a few days to find a way that I can extract them from the iso file and how to rip the models on screen through ppsspp and ninja ripper with no success. Similarly if someone already has the files available and they can share them with me that would be a massive help!
Many thanks!

The problem you're having with NinjaRipper seems to be that it can't find the needed "intruder.dll". If you look in the folder where you have NinjaRipper installed you should see two folders called "x86" and "x64" and "intruder.dll" should be inside each of those folders along with some other files. My guess is it got deleted somehow or left out during the install process. Try re-installing NinjaRipper to the same location and see if that fixes your problem.

Unfortunately I am now getting an application error saying that ppsspp was unable to start correctly, any ideas on that? I have tried both the x64 and x86 files for ninja ripper with ppssppwindows and ppssppwindows64 but still get the same error. I have exported the container file of the iso file through noesis but all as I can find that way is cutscenes, music and a bunch of .bin files which I don't think I can do anything with. I don't suppose anyone has any ideas of any other ways I may be able to get the models?

If you look under Settings/Graphics/Backend you can see what rendering options are available. For NinjaRipper to work well if using x86 I recommend setting it to Direct3D 9 and with x64 set it to Direct3D 11. You can also use the JPCSP emulator to rip models. JPCSP has a function already built-in that lets you dump/export currently displayed scenes to .obj directly without using any external software at all. If you're looking to extract the data from the PSP disc/iso the file is called "legostarwarsclonewarspsp.fib". The container .fib is also used in many other LEGO games however the format is slightly different with each version so successfully extracting the files from one LEGO game won't necessarily work on another. I used Aluigi's QuickBMS script HERE to extract the .fib file however I get nothing useful to work with, just a bunch of raw .dat files.

I have had a look at the log file and can't seem to find where there's an error occurring. The main character that I would like the model and texture for is the "stealth trooper". If anyone would be able to help me get the assets for just that one character, if I am unable to get ninja ripper to rip successfully, I would be very grateful as I've tried many different ways and method with little success.

I have no way to really know exactly what your problem might be without knowing all the details about your specific system and emulator setup. All that aside there is a problem with ripping models from LEGO Star Wars III PSP via PPSSPP with NinjaRipper. While I can easily rip entire scenes, the character models come out distorted due to the way the game engine renders them. The character torsos, arms, hands, and legs all end up posed in whatever shape they were in when capturing the scene instead of a nice static pose. I don't have a way to disable the game's animations or force the models into a static pose so I don't have a way around this. The heads however do rip in a static pose. One idea I've experimented with is recreating the models inside LEGO Digital Designer (LDD) where applicable and then ripping those static models instead. Then I add the unique heads and textures from the game to them. This isn't ideal but it does allow me to get the static models with better detail using some small amount of effort. Outside of this I really don't know what else to do. Trying to fix the distorted models ripped from the game would require far too much effort and most likely wouldn't give very good results anyway. FYI while doing all this I found the PSP game has around 50 unique characters not present in the PC version of the game!

Warhammer_81 , Are you able to rip the rishi mase level from Lego star wars 3?, or able to check if Starfighter missions work now? I'm not sure what level you're referring to, there's no level called "Rishi Maze" in the game so you'll have to give me more to go on. Starfighter Missions is still version 0.95 which only works on the latest 64Bit Android hardware so unfortunately I have no way to play the game anymore.

There isn’t any error in the log when I look so I’m just confused as to what could be preventing the rip. If it’s possible that you can rip the “stealth trooper” model and texture, even though the model may be distorted can I ask if it’s possible for you to post them? The pose of the model isn’t a big issue any pose would be great! Completely understand if that’s too much to ask of you! I’m still going to keep trying different methods to rip the character models from the PSP port because as you said, there’s around 50 characters that aren’t present in the pc version and I’d like to be able to get all those files eventually. Once again thanks for the help!

From the "File" menu select "Export 3D Scene". Once you're done ripping all the scenes you want look in the main JPCSP directory and open the "Export" folder. Inside there will be folders containing all the scenes you ripped. Try this and let me know if it works for you.
