I find getting the metallic edging from the maps a bit easier if I run it through a color-ramp to give some control over it as seen in the last post...works really well with 4k textures. I'm not a Blender user, so I could be misunderstanding what you're doing here but a metal map's 'colours' should either be white or black. Applying colour or moving into greyscale values won't get correct results. Let me ask, what would you do if the metal-map is grey-scale? As you are going to run into this problem in many of the newer models... I put a reply back in the Blender tutorials, as I think all the texturing questions belong in the Help/Tutorials Color-Ramps

Ok, I redownloaded the models and the UV channels are showing now. I guess I was using a glitchy download or blender was buggy.

is there a model for the imperial cadet helmet All of the outfits are in my archive. They use different names in the game files though, so I can't recall which RAR file they are in. It's likely the one called "Solo".

I'm late to the party,
Is squadrons the same extraction procedure as BFII?, with blueprints and uv's being on channel 2?
Also which ships are different from BFII?

Yes, ships and characters work exactly the same way as Battlefront 1 & 2. All of the ships have slight differences, but if you're referring specifically to ships not at all in BF2, the B-Wing and TIE Defender are the main two playable ships that come to mind. There are a few other NPC ships as well though, such as the Inquisitor TIE, etc. plus a plethora of skins.

Which games models are closer to the physical movie models?

Which games models are closer to the physical movie models? I'd say they're identical in that regard. What I meant was that the models are 99% identical, however in some cases they might include a slightly different weapon set, or more often a very minor texture difference. Most of the time however the meshes and textures are ported over directly from Battlefront, as they use the same engine of course. Personally as a rule of thumb I just stick with Battlefront for most fighters as there isn't really much of any difference. For larger ships, like star destroyers, corvettes, etc. Squadrons tends to have more details and elements that may have been missing in Battlefront.

There are a few exceptions regarding the fighter models. The B-Wing and TIE Defender are both much better than the versions in the 2015 Battlefront. The X-Wing model is also much different, although it's debatable whether it's better than either Battlefront version. The TIE Reaper didn't exist in either Battlefront game, although there was another high quality but completely different version in Fallen Order. One other point worth mentioning is that Squadrons includes more than a few cool skins for the fighters, although they don't really help in terms of movie model accuracy.

Hello all. I am looking for a couple models, I did see that a couple people were working on them, I am wondering if any progress had been made? The models I am inquiring about are: -radar station & radar beacon -Esseles listening post -Hosnian Prime Orbital Outpost

I hadn't checked the Frosty Discord in a while, but it looks like an official experimental Frosty profile for Squadrons is in the works along with some new features for Frosty.

Hello everybody,
Has anyone been able to extract the B-Wing cockpit? I'm using the alpha version of Frosty and I can only find the target mesh. I think since the sdk is out of date, it may not have a pointer to the meshes. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Also if you already extracted it, I would love if you could share it. I'm not worried about texture placement or anything, I just mainly need the mesh. Thank in advance as always.

DLC content is added to the "LiveService" section. (LiveService > Environments > Vehicles > Rebel > Siege > BWing > Meshes)

Damn! It keeps crashing on me when trying to export. Could you possibly extract it and post? I'm totally happy with just the raw mesh as it will be 3d printed. If you are too busy, I totally understand. Thanks again!
