Edit: thanks for the upload it wasnt shown as i posted my post modtools.petrolution.net/tools/AloViewerHere you can find a importer for 3d studio ... WOuld be great if you could convert some of the alo ships, especially the stations (would do it myself but got no 3d studio max :-( )

I have an oddly specific request. Is anybody able to rip the map plane from inside star wars empire at wars map editor?, both the "standard size" and the largest size?
Thanks!

are there any Sith Temple interior meshes that look anything like the new canon stuff? I think there was one in a hero fighting game or something recently, some mobile thing, but I'm blanking.

Servius have reupload my link and preview ... I backup anything posted here, as long as it isnt a massive library. I dont like scenarios where something is posted without a preview, a temporary dl link, or from a creator we never hear from again. The last reason is why I dont sort by uploader. I back up everything on the trello so we get a lot less of the "Hey does anyone have >this model< posted 5 years ago?" since i actually backed up that model from 5 years ago in a way that can easily be searched and previewed in the same spot.

Hello fellas, been a while, mainly because I've been in the deep abyss of making characters in DAZ3D and actually being good at it now.
Leia Organa (Hair and clothes are from Battlefront II) [Image has been removed by Administrator for violating spoiler rule]More characters are on the way.

flipdark95, just FYI if you didn't see, Jedi: Fallen Order spoilers are banned in this thread until December 1. No worries.

A fellow DAZ character adapter. Same here. Though I do Star Trek mostly.

I only got into DAZ pretty recently, but I've found it to be probably the best character focused software out there. It definitely has a niche it fills really well.

I would really like to know your process in getting the rigging setup, etc in Daz. In the process of creating DazStudio characters myself based on the models here. A few examples of what I've been playing with in Daz.

To be perfectly honest, the outfit and hair were already ported and converted for DAZ, I just downloaded them for use since they were the same assets I'd be using later on. So unfortunately I don't know much about rigging in DAZ, but I'm looking at tutorials.

gmann001, I've recently begun working on rigging items in Daz, as well. Mostly simple stuff, like clothing or adding turrets to ships, etc. I did rig a Kowakian Monkey-Lizard model up from scratch, and for that I used this tutorial. It's a bit of a painstaking process, unfortunately, so rigging from scratch is a project.
If the model is close to one of the Genesis figures, I just use Transfer Utility to give it rigging, then adjust the model until it's closer in shape to the Genesis figure, then Transfer Utility again. Repeat until it's good.
If it's entirely different, like the Kowakian, then I use the process in that tutorial. It really helps to be detailed at the start, when you make the selection sets, since all the bones will be based on those selection sets. You have to figure out how the anatomy of the model will function, to give it the proper joints. The Genesis 3/8 rigging really helps as guidelines for how the skeleton should be set up.
Hopefully that helps, and you have better luck than I've been having! I've stalled in a few rigging projects, unfortunately.

It works really well for human characters but I've found DAZ however to be rather challenging for alien characters, especially in regards to rigging the face.

johnfleetadmiral01, flipdark95, swuspeedy, How do you get around the tendency of DAZ to fuckup the models from here, I am really lost at why it imports some fbx just right and others are just a mess of .... something Would really appreciate some input, as it is really making me lose my mind.

In my case I wouldn't know how to answer that because I merely use DAZ as a custom character creator and them port them to Blender.

As far as I know, there's no way to import an FBX model with rigging, so I don't even bother. Instead, I use Noesis or Autodesk's FBX Converter and convert everything to obj format. Although, I recently got Blender, so I will probably start using that to help out.

well corra's files are all old 6.x ascii format. blender doesn't do that. gotta convert. and...
what? daz doesn't import fbx with rigs? throw it away then. if you know noesis and fbx converter, you're good to use blender. it imports most binary and the 7.5 version fbx just fine. note: if you use noesis and export fbx, it says version 7.5 export, but it's not, so... you still gotta convert it.
blender rn is the most compatible and fresh and versioning and usable free fbx modelling tool, i'd say.

I've found that bringing models into Blender via Noesis Conversion. Collada .dae is a good format though you have the make sure flip UVs is checked otherwise they'll be upside down.
