Yikes, those Vornskrs are a little too low poly for my use, but thank you Also looking for a Rebel Personnel Transporter the same as the one in the rebel hangar in ANH?

Warhammer_81, many thanks for those. If I can ask a question without everybody pointing and laughing... I've now got several great models with skeletons, and what I would like to do is convert them for use in DAZ as I'm a renderer, not a modder. Is there a decent tut anywhere with software requirements and instructions? I'll stick the tin hat on now!

...use in DAZ as I'm a renderer, not a modder. why daz? is the renderer that good? (i rendered like 2 or 3 screens years ago) or are you just to lazy to pose your models the old fashioned way? why would it require special tools? shouldn't fbx be the standard format for rigged models. you may have to refer to google to get a tutorial, i guess.

dlight , DAZ has some excellent tools for lighting and scenery and composition and learning curves ain't what they used to be at 63 so new software learning is probably not a good idea for me. I can pose the models in Blender but it's much more time consuming and lacks the accuracy of Daz. I'll have a look at what Google has.

gotcha. no problem. you render character shots in pose? it's like a photobooth with some background. i do my "release renders" in blender the same way. daz is good for that too tho, for sure. i'm just not familiar with the import pipeline of it. can't assist there, sry. yo chill

dlight, no problem mate. From what I can find, bringing a rigged model into Daz is almost impossible so I'll stick to posing these particular models in Blender and saving out as Obj.

Most character models are brought into Daz as a Morph by using r3ds wrap. Export a Daz character 8.1 say out of Daz, and use the base mesh to WRAP around the Imported Game mesh...save as an object file and import to DAZ, then use it as a Morph … Search HERE

I've done it with Finn, Luke, and some others. But it doesn't work if you wanted to use something like a battle droid in Daz's rigging system. For that, you either have to pose in Blender, or rig it entirely yourself in Daz. Rigging it in Daz isn't too bad, though it's easier for anything with rigid joints, like with droids. It's a bit harder with organic models.

You could try using ActoreCore AccuRig it will rig just about anything, and works a lot like the rigger in Mixamo, but will rig a character with clothing or hard surface attachments. Export as FBX.

rscott , swuspeedy , thanks for the guidance, most helpful. I'm going to have a look at Wrap and see if my squishy brain can absorb it Meanwhile having posed Fennec Shand in Blender, is there an MK Sniper Rifle in the archives does anybody know? I've searched through but didn't see one. PS this is what I'm trying to achieve, but it would be so much better to have the figure poseable directly in Daz Studio.

Is there a higher poly Lobot than the one in GoH does anybody know? I would just modify a G8 model to look generally like Lobot, and put on the cybernetic headgear from Star Wars Squadrons.

It's something I've gotten pretty good at it having spent the better part of 2021 doing (for Star Trek Fleet Command's models mostly but some Star Wars ones as well.)
I'm finally getting back into it after a long hiatus in 2022 due to some GPU related issues that put me out of commission for most of the year.

Warhammer_81 , That looks like just what I'm after but I can't find it in the archive that the link takes me too? I've had a search through, but nothing named LOBOT?LOL found him in the DANCE section. I'm assuming that if the items are coming up see through in other software, it's because of the TGA textures?Wrong assumption on my part. In DAZ it was the cutout opacity setting! Every day's a school day!!

Can't believe I forgot this but Star Wars Kinect has a pretty decent model of Lobot: View Attachment funny you should mention Star Wars Kinect. A lot of those models are on my own to do list for DAZ conversions. I have no idea why but my copies of the Kinect models are having the same problem I’ve been running into with the Star Trek Fleet Command models. Completely broken rigs. In this case it’s as if the original uploader of them forgot to turn off the IK constraints before exporting them to FBX.

johnfleetadmiral01, AGREED! I dropped Lobot into BLENDER, and he wasn't very happy. In the end, I followed the suggestion about grabbing the headpiece and working an original figure up in DAZ. Doesn't look bad actually. One thing I decided way back was that while making images of Star Wars, I was fed up of seeing them in the same clothes. It wouldn't happen in RL except obviously uniforms, armour and such like. It's more a case of getting that AGFFA feeling. Anyhoo, thanks for the help guys and John, I've got you on speed dial!

I was wondering is there a decent Zuckuss model out there? There aren't many models of him out there from Star Wars games, mostly fan-made mods. There is a model of the Gand species in SWTOR though: groinkick.freeforums.net/post/4806I know of a model of Zuckuss in Star Wars: Assault Team but unfortunately no one seems to have the game files backed up after the game servers were shut down back in October 2014.
